About Baxter Byerly

Baxter Byerly is a retired IT executive and lifelong student of American frontier history. After thirty years in cybersecurity, he turned his attention to writing Western fiction grounded in authentic detail, sharp character work, and the unforgiving realities of frontier justice.

His debut novel, The Quiet Gun, launches the Katherine McCluskey series — a blend of historical accuracy, mystery, and frontier grit set against the harsh beauty of the 1885 Arizona Territory.

Baxter lives in Brooksville, Florida, where he continues researching the American West and writing the next installment in the Katherine McCluskey series.
